DJ Muggs & MF DOOM Feat. Kool G Rap “Assassination Day”

Between surprise releases and livestreamed listening parties in the middle of nowhere, artists are getting more creative with their album rollouts these days. For his upcoming solo LP Assassination Day, Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs is teasing out the project in individual chapters with various MCs. The first chapter finds Muggs joining forces with fellow hip-hop legend MF DOOM for a devastating one-two punch. Last week we heard the pair’s “Death Wish” collaboration with Freddie Gibbs; today we’ve got the B-side cut, “Assassination Day,” featuring the venerable Kool G Rap.

Dropping August 3, DJ Muggs’ Assassination Day is described as “a thematic album with a vigilante concept where hip-hop takes corruption head-on, figuratively killing off powerful evildoers in positions of power as the story unfolds.”
